This tangy, sweet, and flavorful drink is perfect for beating the heat in summer. Aam Panna is traditionally made from raw mangoes and packed with the goodness of mint and roasted cumin for a refreshing twist. It’s a family favorite, especially during hot afternoons!

Ingredients:

Raw mangoes: 500 grams, diced

Water: 2 liters

Salt: to taste

Black salt: 1 teaspoon

Roasted cumin (jeera): 1 tablespoon

Sugar: 1 cup

Mint leaves: a few, for garnish

Instructions:

1.Boil the mangoes:

In a large pot, add the diced raw mangoes and enough water to cover them. Boil until the mangoes become soft and the skin starts to peel off.

2.Prepare the mixture:

Once the mangoes are cool, peel off the skin and scoop out the pulp. In a blender or using a spoon, mash the pulp until smooth.

3.Mix ingredients:

Add the mango pulp to a pot along with the remaining water. Stir in the salt, black salt, roasted cumin, and sugar.

4.Simmer the drink:

Bring the mixture to a boil, ensuring the sugar is completely dissolved. Adjust sweetness and salt to your preference.

5.Serve chilled:

Let the Aam Panna cool down, then refrigerate. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve chilled for a refreshing taste.

Tip:

Use fresh mint while serving to elevate the drink’s cooling effect!
